Personal Biography: Hello there! I was born and raised on my family farm near Foremost, Alberta. After graduating high school, where my interest in accounting first began, I moved to Lethbridge graduating from LCC in 1984 with a Business Administration-Accounting. From there I went on to work first in the banking industry, and then on to administration for a growing computer company. I had an interest in administration and human resources, so moved on to work with a Lethbridge personnel company. In 1989 I married Terence Hochstein and relocated to his family ranch south of Pincher Creek, Alberta and our family started to grow. While my children were small, I worked from home as the secretary to the Canadian Red Angus Promotion Society, a position I continue to hold today on a part-time basis. Our family farm is a YPM client, so when Jim from the Fort Macleod office asked if I would consider working part-time for them I was happy to start a new chapter and well, the rest is history.
In 2007 we made the heart-wrenching decision to leave the family farm and start over. I was truly relieved to have YPM in Taber make an offer. It made the move so much easier to know I had a familiar environment to come to work in. I really enjoy the people in Taber and look forward to a long career here.
We have three wonderful children, now in their teens (one has even moved away already). Time really does fly. I appreciate YPM’s vision and commitment to family.
Hobbies/Interests: With three active children I don’t have a lot of time for hobbies, but do enjoy sewing and scrapbooking if I get the time. Other than that, I can pretty much guarantee that you will find me courtside at some basketball or volleyball game in the winter, or in the front row looking right at the pitching mound in the summer. Gotta love my life!
Credentials: Here at YPM, I work almost exclusively on agricultural files. I believe a strong knowledge of our client’s industry or business is essential. Agriculture is what I know and have been involved with my entire life. At YPM I have further developed my agriculture accounting skills and can now take satisfaction in seeing a client file from start to finish. I have really enjoyed working with YPM Taber clients.
