Personal Biography: I moved back to Southern Alberta (Claresholm) in 2007 from Edmonton because I missed the prairies so much, and for the sunny, warmer weather. I haven’t regretted one day since I moved. I am divorced, no children, aunt to five twins and triplets who are now 25 yrs and 28 yrs. The triplets were born in Lethbridge so some of you may remember them from 1983. I have worked in various fields, such as medicine, safety, media, software consultant, but always come back to accounting which I love. In my other life, outside of work, I ride my motorcycle. I love long distance riding. For two years in a row, my name was drawn to ride from Mexico to Canada in 4 days (about 4000 km), ending in BC both times. I just loved it, and was one of a few women on this rally of about 325 riders. I also downhill ski, swim, read and spend hours with my dog. I’m a home owner so that always takes up a lot of time. My volunteer hats are now on for the Claresholm Kinettes, Claresholm Animal Rescue Society and Women in the Wind (women’s motorcycle club). I did go to New Orleans in December 2007 for two weeks with Habitat for Humanity, building houses in the Musicians Village. It was an awesome experience and one I would do again in a minute.
I feel very fortunate to be working with YPM in Fort Macleod. I only put my resume out to a couple of places because I am very choosy about where I work. I hit the jackpot and am very thankful for it.
Hobbies/Interests: Motorcycling, downhill skiing, volunteering, meeting people and having fun; reading and of course, friends and family.
Strengths: What I do best: my people skills; troubleshooting. I have experience in many different fields and have taught adults for years which has honed my communication skills. I can find enough different ways to ask questions to get the answers I need to solve problems. Then I have the skills to fix the problem or know where to look for the answers.
I enjoy the variety of work and really enjoy working with the team members at YPM.
What sets me apart could be my sense of humor and confidence in myself due to my experience and maturity. Another thing that sets me apart is that I am a ‘biker’ and ride long distances around North America.
