Personal Biography: I was born and raised in the small town Wrentham, Alberta on a family farm. While I enjoyed farming my parents insisted that I obtain some sort of secondary education. I chose the field of accounting and I soon discovered that I enjoyed this role as well and decided to stick with it.
I joined YPM in the spring of 1990 and obtained my CA designation in 1993. In 1996 YPM expanded the Taber branch and I joined the YPM team at that location and have been there ever since.
I am still involved with two of my brothers on the family farm although my role has become much smaller over the years.
I am married to Michelle and we have three children, Brent, Nicole and Ryan.
Hobbies/Interests: My hobbies include golf, curling, camping, quading and spending time with my wife and kids. I also enjoy traveling.
Credentials: I received my Bachelor of Management from the University of Lethbridge in 1990. I received my Chartered Accountant designation in 1993.
Strengths: I enjoy working with people. My experience is with all sizes of owner managed businesses. I enjoy working with families dealing with the intergenerational transfer of the family business. I have spent a significant amount of my time assisting famiies in this area, especially in the Agricultural area. I enjoy the challenge of finding creative solutions to issues that often seem impossible at the outset.
